Hope for Haiti Telethon Backlash
There is already backlash about Haiti Telethon. Hope for Haiti Telethon is going to be televise on major networks and cable stations. Many people are making their voices known about the telethon. Here are some of comments, I saw on popeater.com.

I find this entire thing ridiculous. Why have these big shows, why not have these celebrities who have millions/billions of dollars simply donate their own personal money. This would be a better solution than to ask struggling Americans to donate. I am also confused as to why there is such an uprising to help another country when people in our OWN country are struggling to keep their houses, pay bills, feed children, pay for health insurance and keep up with bail outs for corporate America? I just cannot see the reasoning for this when people in the USA are in need, and our own government, corporations (with billions) and celebrities will not step in to help
their own people, I am dumbfounded and appalled.

We need to work on our own country. I am sure some stars donated, but here in our country people are losing their houses, jobs and other things that they have worked so hard for.I am so sick of Famous rich people asking us for what little money we have. As they sit in their big beautiful homes, driving their fancy cars, carrying their 10,000 purses, vacations every other week.People here are still trying to rebuild after hurricanes, wild fires, and floods. Where is the help nthey needed and some still need.

Haiti has had some bad luck. Guess what? We all have bad luck. People losing the homes they hoped to raise their own children in. I don't see these stars rallying to raise money for any of our people. And one more thing.... they interrupt our evening of TV for their telethon. Why didn't they plan this for tomorrow night instead of having their precious SAG awards ..... Hmmmm.

I'LL DONATE WHEN THESE OVER BLOATED CELEBRATIES HOLD A FUNDRAISER FOR THE POOR FAMILIES TRYING TO AFFORD HEALTH CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN, OR FOR THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS WHO CAN BARELY AFFORD TO PAY TEACHERS, OR THE FAMILIES HIT BY THE ECONOMY, CLEARLY THE CELEBRATIES AREN'T SUFFERING... HELP THE UNITED STATES FIRST ! THAT'S WHERE YOU LIVE !!!!!!!!!!!
